HydroTac® is a foam dressing with a gas-permeable, liquid- and microbe-impermeable outer layer made of polyurethane with a hydrogel coating. The HydroTac product line offers active, bifunctional moisture management in the wound microenvironment: the hydrogel keeps the wound moist and prevents sticking, while the foam layer absorbs and retains exudate from lightly to moderately exuding wounds during the granulation and epithelialization phases of wound healing, even under compression. The outer, waterproof layer serves as a protective barrier against bacteria and external contaminants. The product is suitable for both chronic and acute wounds. The gel on the wound-contact layer prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound. It allows for atraumatic dressing changes. The slight self-adhesive effect facilitates handling by pre-securing the dressing to the skin; however, for long-term fixation, suitable products such as hypoallergenic adhesive tapes or bandages should be used.
